She landed the huge jackpot from a scratcher at a gas station.
Melissa Ede, a cab driver in the UK is now £4million richer after winning the jackpot from a £10 gas station lottery scratcher.
This is great news to everyone but her four children. Ede is a trans rights activist and YouTube blogger who underwent her own transition about a year ago, something she says her kids didn’t support.
“I know we should all love our children unconditionally but they cut me out of their lives,” said Ede to The Sun, “They weren’t there during my hardest times and rejected me. I still love them but I don’t want false love off them because I’ve got money now.”
“My kids also disowned me and changed their surnames so as not to be associated with me," she adds.
Instead of giving any of the dough to her kids who are aged 19, 29, 30 and 39 she is going to show her appreciation to those who actually made her feel welcomed.
“The people who have stood by me through thick and thin — it’s payback time for them.”
She is also going to buy a new home, car and will also plan a big wedding for her and her girlfriend Rachel, who she’s been with for the past year.
A part of the jackpot will also fund some cosmetic dentistry she’s been looking forward to having.
