The trailblazer is currently recovering.
Supreme Court Justice and historic icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg fell in her SCOTUS office on Wednesday night and fractured her ribs.
In a statement from the Supreme Court, they say Ginsburg, 85, didn't feel right after going home following the tumble. She was taken to George Washington University Thursday morning for treatment.
Justice Ginsburg has become not only an example of female empowerment but somewhat of a pop culture icon. She was recently made into an action figure and has not one, but two, movies coming out about her life.
The 85-year-old is only the second woman to sit on the Supreme Court she was appointed by Bill Clinton in 1993.
Since then she has successfully been treated for numerous ailments including heart surgery and pancreatic cancer.
Nicknamed "Notorious RBG," Ginsburg is known for her no-nonsense approach to debating among her bench-sitting peers.
"All of the incentives, all of the benefits that marriage affords would still be available,” said Ginsburg. “So you’re not taking away anything from heterosexual couples. They would have the very same incentive to marry, all the benefits that come with marriage that they do now.”
Upon hearing the news of Ginsburg's fall, social media's verifieds quickly sprung into action affectionately joking about the Justice's safety.
Wrote David Rothkopf: "Why is there not a team of spotters walking within an arm's length of Ruth Bader Ginsburg at all times? And why is she not wearing an outfit made of bullet-proof bubble wrap from dawn till dusk? Let's stay focused on what's really important, people."
Others offered up their skeletal system to the recovering judge.
"If Ruth Bader Ginsburg needs ribs I have like dozens of them that I'm not using, let's do this," wrote Anna Merlan.
