My office is working to provide Mid-City and South San Diego County residents with the latest information on the impact the novel coronavirus, known as COVID-19, is having on our community. Our senior citizens and young students will be the most affected by this crisis, and organizations throughout San Diego have stepped up to help residents grappling with issues around food security.

San Diego Mayor’s update on City’s response to COVID-19 and decision to close all beaches

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – All city beaches from San Diego to Carlsbad will remain closed Tuesday as San Diego County officials urge residents to practice social distancing to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer ordered the closure of all city-owned beaches, parks and trails on Monday, and said violators could face fines and jail time.

VIDEO: Board of Supervisors take action to defer Department of Environmental Health fees for restaurant and bars

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Board of Supervisors will be taking action on a Board Letter introduced by Vice-Chairman Jim Desmond and Supervisor Kristin Gaspar to defer payment of fees collected by the Department of Environmental Health from March 1, 2020 through August 30, 2020 for restaurants and bar businesses impacted by the Health Order.
