The San Diego Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying three men they say assaulted and robbed two pedestrians in North Park.

According to 10 News, it happened on Thursday morning when a 35-year-old man and 24-year-old man were walking down University Avenue at about 1:40 am.

It was then that three male suspects confronted them and began to physically beat one of the men causing him to hit the ground.

The beating continued as the assailants continuously kicked and slugged the man about the face and head.

Trying to intervene, the second victim became involved but was also beaten before a bouncer from a nearby bar broke it up.

The assailants stole iPhones and wallets from the two men. The suspects are described as Hispanic and in their 20s.

Each of the victims was taken to the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego Police at 619-516-3078 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
