San Diego Gay Men's Chorus will get a new executive director this summer

Jeff Heine will take over the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus later this summer, replacing Bob Lehman.

The world renown San Diego Gay Men's Chorus announced its new executive director on Wednesday.

Jeff Heine (pictured above) was chosen after nation-wide search and will officially start the position later this summer. Heine is currently the executive director of the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus (TCGMC) in Minneapolis.

“I am thrilled to be coming to San Diego to work with this amazing Chorus,” said Heine in a press release. “I look forward to building upon its successes and furthering its important work within the community.”

Heine has led the TCGMC for a decade and brings with him a history of management positions including serving on its Board of Directors, management adviser for GALA Choruses and its network of 160 LGBT choruses, director of customer strategy within the hotel group of Carlson Companies, and as a trustee of the Marketing Science Institute.

Current SDGMC executive director Bob Lehman (pictured left) will step down from his position which he has held since 2013.

Lehman's leadership has propelled the chorus into worldwide fame and respect. As executive director, Lehman quadrupled its revenues while building community support and raising awareness of local causes.

“We’re excited to welcome Jeff to our wonderful San Diego family,” said Lehman. “He brings an incredible mix of corporate and performing arts management experience to our Chorus coupled with an enthusiastic commitment to our mission of changing lives one voice at a time. I know Jeff will do a great job.”
