An individual has been detained on suspicion of being involved in the overdose deaths of two males that occurred at homosexual nightclubs in New York City, as reported by the New York Police Department (NYPD). The court hearing for Mr. Barroso is expected to take place on Monday.

Also, law enforcement officials are looking for two additional suspects who may be connected to the killings they are investigating. On Monday, Barroso is scheduled to appear before the court.

He was arrested and charged in connection with the murders of John Umberger and Julio Ramirez, according to the investigators that looked into the case.

On April 21, 2022, Ramirez, who was 25 years old at the time of his death, was discovered unresponsive in the trunk of a cab, as stated in the report.

On the very same night that he went to the Ritz Bar and Lounge, all of his money was drained from his accounts.

Umberger, 33 years old at the time of his death, was found dead in an apartment located on East 61st Street on June 1, 2022.

He was only going to be in the city for a short while due to a business trip that brought him here.

More than $200,000 worth of money was taken from his accounts through the use of his phone and credit card.

The New York Police Department has indicated that the two deaths are connected to a sequence of robberies that took place between September 19, 2021, and August 28, 2022, and the NYPD is now investigating 17 crimes that are comparable to this pattern.

In addition, there have been at least 43 drug-related club robberies in Manhattan and the areas around it since September 2021; seven of these robberies resulted in fatal overdoses.

Even though the patterns were only brought to the attention of the public for the first time after the April and June 2022 murders that were linked to homosexual clubs in the Hell’s Kitchen district, they embrace not only gay bars but also straight establishments, as well as heterosexual and LGBTQ individuals.
