SAN DIEGO -- Applications for the Pride parade in July are now being accepted.
This year will mark the 36th annual San Diego Pride parade. Those interested in participating are urged to apply as soon as possible to insure openings and desired parade placement. The deadline will be June 30.
Fully decorated floats, musical contingents, costumed groups and equestrian units are strongly encouraged to take part in what is San Diego’s largest civic event. Awards will be given for the best entries in various categories.
Last year’s Pride parade attracted more than 60,000 spectators and thousands of marchers. The parade will be followed by a two-day festival at Marston Point in Balboa Park.
The parade, which will start at 11 a.m. July 17, will be a mile-long march down University Avenue through the heart of Hillcrest. This year’s theme is “One World, One Heart, One Pride.”
