CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- While San Diego County's temperate climate extends the swimming season to be nearly year round, the hot summer days typically bring on a number of pool parties around town.
The South Bay Alliance will host its second annual pool party fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 6 at a private home in Chula Vista. Admission to the event is $15 and will include food, margaritas, and swimming.
South Bay Pride works to build community amongst the LGBT community in the southern part of San Diego County. The group organizes meetings and events to bring people together, connect to LGBT-friendly businesses, and raise awareness of issues facing the LGBT community.
The group also maintains a website with information and resources for community members.
This weekend's pool party will be held just two weeks prior to the organization's largest annual event, South Bay Pride Art & Music Festival.
This year's pride celebration will be held Saturday, Aug. 20, from noon to 7 pm in Memorial Park.
Proceeds from the pool party will benefit the programs of South Bay Alliance, including the pride celebration.
The event is for those ages 21 and older and will be held at 500 Montera Court.
