Meet LGBT History Month Icon Elizabeth Birch

Birch’s activism began when she joined the Bay Area Municipal Elections Committee.

Elizabeth Birch is a prominent LGBT activist. From 1995 to 2004, she served as executive director of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest LGBT organization in the United States. Under her leadership, the HRC’s budget quadrupled and its membership increased more than tenfold.

New York drag queen walks off stage in protest of club's general manager

A New York drag queen named Honey Davenport (above left) was scheduled to perform at the Monster, a popular gay nightclub in NYC’s Greenwich Village, on Saturday but when she walked on stage she was visibly upset, accusing the club's manager of racism.

Some SD Pride parade contingents will be honored with special ribbons

Contingents across 10 categories will be recognized with beautiful ribbons.

For the first time in history, contingents in San Diego's Pride Parade will be honored and acknowledged in 10 categories with beautiful ribbons for their involvement in the 2018 celebration. 

Categories range from people and businesses in the community to their allies and supporters. Each category will have a first, second and a third place winner.
