San Diego Pride's annual "Out at the Park" event set for May 19 at Petco Park

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego LGBT Pride’s annual “Out at the Park” will take place on Saturday, May 19, at 7:05 pm at Petco Park when the Padres host the Angels in interleague play.

Pride officials say that this year's event will be the largest yet.

The game will will mark the first series that baseball superstar Albert Pujols will appear in San Diego as a member of the Los Angeles Angels.

Tickets to the game purchased through San Diego Pride are $15, which is discounted from the $18.50 individual ticket price paid by those purchasing tickets directly from the Padres.

The “Out at the Park” group will be seated in the upper infield reserve area and closer to behind home plate than last year. Event organizers say that these will be great seats to catch the action along with hundreds of other members of the LGBT community.

“The outing at Petco Park is San Diego Pride’s most popular event leading up to our annual Pride celebration in July,” said Dwayne Crenshaw, Pride's executive director. “With San Diego Pride’s theme as America’s Pride this year, what better way to show our Pride than the LGBT community coming together to enjoy America’s favorite pastime.”

Tickets purchased online will be available for pickup starting May 7 at the San Diego Pride office, 3620 30th St. in North Park. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the office.
