SAN DIEGO -- This Saturday, April 7, 2012 the dances that have been heating up San Diego's women's community for the last few years are back again with a new spin on their previous Hot Flash and Inferno dances and it is spreading …
Wildfire! A Hot Flash Production kicks off in April with two -- believe it -- two dances to get you out of your houses and onto the dance floor.
Now labeled "a dance for queer women and our allies," this all women's dance is very inclusive.
Local favorite DJ dirty KURTY will be back spinning your favorite music for you, and this month will be even more special with live filming from Media Broadcasting Network, ThatsSoGayLIVE. Special show host Kristy Salazar will be on air, along with a few special guests.
Come meet San Diego's two new reality stars, Samantha Stewart and Kayla Kahn of Moto MizFit.
San Diego's own Sally Hall, CEO/Founder of Media Broadcasting Network ThatsSoGayLIVE is looking forward to these two events.
"I'm excited to be working with Wildfire founder Pauline Miriam and the Brass Rail, to bring you TWO LIVE filmings this month for the Wildfire events," Hall told San Diego Gay & Lesbian News. "I love working with Kristy Salazar, who hosted Kathy Belge from Curve's 'Liptick and Dipstick' last month, and I'm also excited to have new reality stars Samantha and Kayla here.
"I'd really like to see the Wildfire dance events reach maximum capacity," she continued. "This is my favorite event of the month and with over 400 women, the dancing is non-stop, thanks to Wildfire's top notch DJ's. This month, we are excited to have local favorite DJ dirty kurty back in the house and we hope to have a lot of our local members on air."
Hall's team will be filming the entire event on both weekends, so if you will be out of town or otherwise unable to make the event, she encourages you to tune in to ThatsSoGayLIVE on UStream.com or hit up their "ThatsSoGayLIVE" Facebook page to watch each night unfold.
Since moving to Brass Rail in Hillcrest last year, this monthly event has exploded in attendance numbers and currently brings about 400 women out to party every month.
Founder Pauline Miriam hopes to now create that same energy twice per month, with an additional dance on Saturday, April 21st. Oregon native Pauline and her partner Joyce will be on hand April 21 to meet and greet attendees.
Kelcie Kopf, site manager for the San Diego dances who has been greeting attendees near the door for the last several years, will be leaving her post after these April dances.
Here is a special note from Kelcie:
I want to let everyone know that April 7th will be my last event with Wildfire (formerly Inferno).
It seems like the past three years have gone by so quickly but during that time I have had the pleasure of getting to know a beautiful group of people. We've been through a lot of changes together and through it all, I have been met with positivity, humor support and encouragement.
I have truly seen the meaning of community and for that I will always be grateful. So thanks to all of you for your amazing spirits, beautiful hearts and for letting me be a part of this family for the past few years.
Wildfire (Inferno) will continue to rage on in San Diego and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow and be a beacon of positivity in our community.
Dance is this Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Brass Rail, located at 3796 Fifth Ave in Hillcrest.
The dance runs from 6 - 10 pm. Revelers are welcome to stay past that time and enjoy Brass Rail's next round of music and entertainment. Admission is $10.
