This week there was a lot of activity in Hillcrest, especially on Tuesday when the Hillcrest Business Association elected their new board members amid a party that celebrates the new Normal Street Promenade project. In addition to all the fun, wayfinding kiosks were unveiled which point visitors to different landmarks in the historic district.

It's almost been three decades since Rich's opened its doors and this Saturday it's time to come out and celebrate this milestone for their 28th birthday. Whether you go there for the great dance parties or the signature Diva drag shows, Rich's has become a favorite destination in Hillcrest and it's easy to see why. 

When mixologist Moe Girton became co-owner and Creative Director of Spirits & Wine of San Diego’s insideOUT, she was tasked with creating an upscale and elevated cocktail menu.

This is Rex.

He is a male, neutered, American Pit Bull Terrier. He is 4-years-old. His ID number is #181383. 

Rex was brought into the San Diego Humane Society by my previous owner on September 17, 2019.

LE Parties is diving into Palm Springs Pride this year.

Their parties have become synonymous with Pride events, and this year the fun continues with added excitement, entertainment and amazing surprises.

As we head into October and the days get shorter it doesn't mean the partying stops. In fact, this week's Out & About is jam-packed with great things to do; it's like summer never left. 

First, celebrate Oktoberfest at the Hillcrest Brewing Company with delicious beer and brats. Oktoberfest is actually a two-week festival held each year in Munich, Germany.

Palm Springs Pride is November 1 to November 3, 2019, but in the weeks leading up to the event the calendar is full of colorful activities. 

This year, sip, sashay and celebrate World Pride and honor those who have courageously fought for equality and are no longer with us.

Hillcrest's haunted Halloween dance party and costume competition is back! 

In the news this week we learned the date of the annual Nicky Awards. The prestigious statuettes are handed out to people in the LGBT community and their allies who have made positive changes, raised money, or created safe and inclusive spaces for the community at large. 

This week's fun is all about your dreams. First, a fever dream at the Porto Vista Hotel for their 70's inspired party for Top of the Bay. Then there's a dream line-up at Rich's for Divas as Raven from Drag Race takes to the stage for a night of drag entertainment that can't be beat. 

Then dream of winning big at Mo's for bingo that benefits the SDAFFL.
