SAN DIEGO -- The last monthly Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) meeting for 2012 will be held tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 pm. Residents and other interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
The meeting will include a number of presentations, including updates from representatives of local government offices. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of the representatives and share issues of concern.
HTC will also present a LION Award -- Let's Improve Our Neighborhood -- to local business owner and community activist Cecelia Moreno for the installation of a new mural on the outside wall of her business, The Crest Cafe. Moreno is also actively involved with the Hillcrest Business Association's (HBA) Beautification Committee and has worked tirelessly on a number of projects that have enhanced Hillcrest.
Benjamin Nicholls, executive director of HBA, will also be on hand to give participants a glimpse into the many events his organization has planned for the neighborhood in 2013.
HTC will not hold a meeting in December, but in lieu of next month's meeting, residents are invited to the Hillcrest History Guild's annual potluck dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 11.
Tonight's meeting will take place at the Joyce Beers Community Center, in the Uptown District Shopping Center on Vermont Street. While attendees are encouraged to walk to the meeting if possible, parking in the surface lot is limited to 2 hours, while underground parking is unlimited.
