TONIGHT: San Diego Gay Men's Chorus to host Info Night for prospective members and new volunteers

SAN DIEGO -- Following its record-setting holiday shows at the Balboa Theatre last month, the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC) invites prospective singers and non-singing volunteers to its upcoming Info Night, taking place tonight, Monday, Jan. 7, at 7 pm.

"This night is a wonderful way to see how the chorus works and what it’s like to be part of a 150-person family," said Joe Gregore, SDGMC's membership director. "We have a lot planned for 2013 and beyond, so it’s the perfect time for anyone wanting an exciting new adventure."

The evening will include auditions for the 2013 concert season which includes “Rocket Man – The Music of Elton John” in April, “Feelin’ Groovy – America in the 60s” in July and the always popular December holiday show. The chorus also sings at various community events throughout the year, with past performances for the San Diego Padres and with the San Diego Symphony Pops.

The chorus asks all interested singers to pre-register for Info Night by completing and submitting an application. The membership application along with details about the audition process can be found online under the “Join Us” link.

The Info Night will take place at University Christian Church in Fellowship Hall, located at 3900 Cleveland Ave. in Hillcrest.
