It was a big holiday week in the community, not only did the gayborhood come alive with Nightmare on Normal Street over the weekend, but Halloween gave us even more tricks and treats on Thursday.

Nightmare on Normal Street may be over, but the fun of Halloween is only beginning as Hillcrest businesses and nighttime entertainment venues are celebrating the spookiest night of the year with special themed events and exclusive specials.

Then head slightly north for Palm Springs Pride and get ready to have some desert fun in the sun!

Those of you who have been in Hillcrest for the past three or four decades don't need an introduction to the Crest Cafe. Its reputation precedes itself with multiple awards, reality show appearances, and a dining room constantly filled to capacity with satisfied and well-fed customers.

Hillcrest is about to get spooky fun this week as the neighborhood goes into full-on Halloween mode. Of course, there is the ever-popular Nightmare on Normal Street in which Hillcrest comes alive for its annual block party. This year entertainment features some great talent from the reality series Dragula and costume contests for humans and their fur babies.

One of the biggest weekends of the year is finally upon us. Although Halloween doesn't officially happen until next Thursday, this week and weekend is packed full of spooktacular entertainment celebrating the season. From costume contests to pool parties to early morning dance celebrations, Hillcrest is coming alive all through the witching hour.
