Harvey Milk's Diner to host fundraiser for beloved community member Joe Phillips

SAN DIEGO -- Harvey Milk's American Diner is hosting a fundraiser for local personality and artist Joe Phillips, who is recovering from a life saving surgery, on Sunday from 4-7 pm.

Community members are invited to the diner for the event as donations will be accepted at the door.

Phillips recently had to have a foot amputated due to complications from diabetes. He has very publicly shared his story on Social Media with many friends and community members interacting with him as he posts.

He is a talented artist, illustrator, animator, designer and sculptor who has worked in the comic book industry since 1987. He has penciled interiors and covers from publishers like DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, IDW, Image, Wild Storm, Now, and many others. Phillips will be present at the Sunday event and is looking forward to seeing friends and community members after being in the hospital for several weeks.
