WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- The City of West Hollywood is hosting its second annual clothing drive for the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Youth Center. Used clothing in good condition will be accepted from the general public, and all items collected will be distributed to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) young people in need.
The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Youth Center on Highland connects young people with essential services and educational and employment opportunities. It also helps them prepare resumes and develop job interview skills.
Many young people who come to the Center don’t have professional clothing for job interviews. The City of West Hollywood will collect men’s and women’s dress pants, shirts, suits, jackets, shoes, and belts. Casual clothing, such as jeans, sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets and coats, new underwear, socks, women’s tights and shoes are also appreciated, as are new backpacks.
