Details on new library will be revealed
SAN DIEGO -- City Council President Todd Gloria will give a presentation at 6:30 tonight at the next meeting of the Hillcrest Town Council (HTC).
Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions of Gloria about city issues, after hearing the council president give an update on District 3.
Anthony Bernal of Gloria’s office will also be in attendance and will introduce members of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library Team. The team will discuss a project to replace the current 3,850 square foot Mission Hills Branch Library built in 1961, and construct a single-story, 15,000-square-foot library in Hillcrest.
The new library will be located on the south side of Washington Street, between Front and Albatross streets, just north of Florence Elementary School.
The meeting will be held at the Joyce Beers Community Center, located in the Hub Hillcrest Market (formerly Uptown District Shopping Center), located at 3900 Vermont St.
