CHULA VISTA, California -- Pride season in San Diego County isn’t over yet! The South Bay Pride Art & Music Festival is tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 13 from noon to 10 pm and organizers say this will be the biggest one yet.
While the main San Diego Pride celebration in July is long behind us (in fact, the organization that produces San Diego Pride is already hard at work on the 2015 festivities), there are two more Pride celebrations ahead of us -- South Bay Pride happening tomorrow and North County Pride by the Beach scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11.
While South Bay Pride is considerably smaller than San Diego Pride, the event has grown substantially in its 7 year history. The event is produced by the South Bay Alliance, a non-profit organization that was founded in 2006 to build a coalition of the LGBT community and allies for social networking, business promotion, and political awareness in the southern part of San Diego County.
In 2007, South Bay Alliance resurrected the “Gay Day in South Bay” that had been formerly organized by community activist and businesswoman Marci Bair in 2003-2005, and from that, South Bay Pride has grown into the much larger art and music festival of today.
