SAN DIEGO, California -- Community members who are looking to take their leadership skills to the next level are encouraged to consider applying for The San Diego LGBT Community Center's Young Professionals Council (YPC) 2015 Academy.
Those who are thinking about applying are encouraged to attend an information session at The Center on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 6 pm.
The mission of YPC is to develop and empower young LGBT professionals and their allies through the YPC Academy. The academy program helps expand the ranks of young LGBT and allied leaders that are ready to further equality through board service for a variety of agencies, not-for-profit organizations and government commissions.
This year's YPC Academy will be held over six Saturday sessions: Feb. 14, Feb. 28, March 14, April 4, April 18, and May 9.
The application process includes
1. A completed application form, found HERE
2. An up-to-date resume
3. and A 300-500 word essay answering the question: “Please describe how you think participation in the YPC Academy will help you achieve a personal or professional goal of yours."
Applications must be received by 8 pm on Jan. 16, 2015 and sent via email to the YPC Staff Liaisons, Ben Cartwright and Rebekah Hook at email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. The announcement of those selected for the 2015 YPC Academy will be made on Jan. 26, 2015.
