Share neighborhood concerns at tonight's Hillcrest Town Council meeting

SAN DIEGO, California -- The Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) invites the community to its first meeting of the year tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 6:30 to 9 pm. The meeting's theme is a "Night of Public Comment" with the entire session dedicated to meeting and hearing from residents and attendees.

HTC leaders want to hear what people like about Hillcrest, what they would like to change, and how folks want to help. Feedback from meeting attendees will help the HTC set its priorities for 2015 and frame important discussions that will continue throughout the year.

Some topics that will be up for discussion, include the following (as described by HTC).

SANDAG Uptown Bike Corridor project and Transform Hillcrest

In 2014 the HTC joined in a collaborative with the HBA and the UCPD to support "Transform Hillcrest" and were able to get a positive response from Sandag to work with the plan as much as possible. How is that going? What's next for the Hillcrest Community Collaborative?

Deca Bike

The stations are here and we are planning a presentation. Would you use them?

It’s Hillcrest, so there are lots of parking issues. But one in particular will be angled parking spaces. The Uptown Community Parking District is thinking about adding some this spring and has picked out a few streets where it might be possible. What do you think?

Pride Plaza

Local groups are working on plans for a new and improved Pride Plaza at University and Normal. This is the large and well-located intersection where the Farmers Market meets every Sunday.

Hillcrest Clean T.E.A.M.

The Clean T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) is planning another Saturday morning neighborhood cleanup. Please join us as we formulate plans.

The meeting will take place at the Joyce Beers Community Center at The Hub | Hillcrest Market, located at 3900 Vermont St.

Founded in 2007, the Hillcrest Town Council strives to provide a voice and enhance the quality of life for Hillcrest residents, renters and homeowners, while supporting actions that benefit the neighborhood. Those who live within or near Hillcrest are encouraged to participate.
