SAN DIEGO, California -- The next community meeting of the Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9 at 6:30 pm with presentations on both SANDAG's Uptown Bike Corridor Project, and the upcoming San Diego LGBT Pride festivities.
The meeting, which is open to all residents of Hillcrest, will also include updates from representatives of local elected officials, and time for community members to address any issues of importance to them.
A discussion of the SANDAG Uptown Bike Corridor Project will begin at 7 pm with a summary of the latest plans for a bike route through Hillcrest, the current status of the project, and next steps.
Stephen Whitburn, Executive Director of San Diego Pride, will address the group at 7:30 pm, and give a preview of the upcoming Pride Weekend, scheduled for July 17-19. The weekend's festivities include the Spirit of Stonewall Rally in Balboa Park, Pride of Hillcrest Block Party on Normal Street, Parade on University and Sixth Avenues, and Music Festival in Balboa Park.
HTC also hosts a post-Pride neighborhood clean-up on the morning of Monday, July 20.
The meeting will take place at the Joyce Beers Community Center, located in the HUB Hillcrest.
