The 9th annual community holiday potluck dinner hosted by the Hillcrest History Guild partnering with the Hillcrest Town Council and the Bankers Hill Community Group will be held Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015 at the San Diego Indoor Sports Club, 3030 Front Street in Bankers Hill. Everyone is welcome to bring their favorite dish to share at this free community dinner.
Arrive at 6 pm when the fun evening begins with Boogie Woogie Queen Sue Palmer filling the clubhouse with holiday music as plates are piled high with tasty treats. Following dinner, this year’s main presentation will be given by retired USD professor Nancy Carol Carter who has extensively documented Balboa Park’s formative horticultural figures. She will be sharing insight on Kate Sessions‘ connections to the neighborhood. Carter was recently honored by the Friends of Balboa Park with their Millennium Award.
92103 really comes together for this fun and tasty event. UCSD Medical Center will be again be roasting the turkeys; Scripps Mercy Hospital is donating all the “fixins” — the dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy, Sharp Rees-Stealy will provide sweeties and coffee with other local business and restaurants providing tasty treats and gift certificates which will be given away throughout the evening as prizes.
The 2015 potluck dinner will be held on Tuesday, December 8 from 6-9pm at the San Diego Indoor Sports Club, 3030 Front Street in Bankers Hill. Celebrate the holidays with your friends and neighbors at this festive community event. All are welcome, just bring a side dish to share!! Suggestions –> Casseroles, cheeses, vegetables, salads or a dessert. Have an ugly Xmas sweater? This is the place to wear it!
