'Unite!' Music Fest won't focus on the 'male body' or be VIP exclusive

The new year is barely under way and organizers are already hard at work planning San Diego Gay Pride weekend 2016.

Artificial People and DJ Tristan Jaxx Productions have announced the “Unite!” Music Festival to take place on July 15 to July 17, 2016.

But this festival is not like any other you may be used to.

SDGLN talked to Tristan Jaxx about the scheduled event and he wants to emphasize that the music fest is truly a party for everyone.

The teaser poster released on January 1, boasts local nightlife club favorites such as “Flaunt,” “Overdrive,” and “Chaos.” I asked Jaxx if “Unite!” was going to be one big circuit party.

"We want to capture a more diverse kind of music than is normally provided at circuit," he said. "The music is why we differ, which in turn brings in a broader community than just the circuit crowd. We want to open up the option for DJ's to expand their horizons to more diverse styles of music. So our branding focus is less on the male body and more the vibe of the party."

Although there will be plenty of live DJs to keep the crowd intoxicated, Jaxx said there are many more surprises in the works, details of which he is keeping under wraps, “We will feature live entertainment and other ‘wow moments’ at each event. Afraid that's all I can share about that for now.”

And for those of you who are eager to buy VIP tickets once they become available, you may want to take a deep breath.

Jaxx says that in order to maintain the essence of the event tied to its namesake, “Unite!” will be missing one ticket purchasing option, “To keep the ‘all inclusive’ vibe, we won't be having VIP tickets, just general admission for all.”

That is all the information SDGLN has for now, but keep checking back as we will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
