In one of the highest voter turnouts in years, The Hillcrest Business Association (HBA) elected their newest  Board members earlier  this month.

There were 97 valid ballots cast.

Executive Director Benjamin Nicholls said in a statement that the quorum was 44 ballots, the threshold for being elected was 49 votes.

I am very much looking forward to working with our new board,” said Nicholls.

Those who were elected are: Jessica Baro, Jeff Jackson, Pete Katz, Brian Lovering, Cecelia Moreno, Maggie Roland, Paul Smith and Glenn Younger.

The new Executive Committee is comprised of Board President ,Tami Daiber, Board Vice-President, Glenn Younger, Board Treasurer , Maggie Roland, and Board Secretary, Paul Smith,

Nicholls encourages those who didn’t get elected to stay involved with the HBA committee, saying there are plenty of projects that could use help throughout the neighborhood.

“The committees are a great way to get involved and make a difference,” he said. “In fact, if you have an idea for a project, let us know and we can get a committee going!”

A select few including Nicholls, were elected to the Uptown Community Parking District to represent Hillcrest businesses.

In addition to Nicholls, Cecelia Moreno, Steve Saars were elected to that panel.
