The person who was tragically killed while reportedly sleeping in a Hillcrest parking garage entrance has been identified as 27-year-old Daniel Arreola.

Very disturbing threats made by parents in a Facebook group against a trans student resulted in the closure of the school district and an investigation by the FBI as a hate crime. 

A new study by the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce suggests that businesses with an LGBT person in a top management position do better than those that don't according to new study. 

A Portland man was arrested because of threats he made to residents at an HIV/AIDS shelter.

COMMENTARY

Legislation to establish gender-neutral pronouns in statute and state policies and regulations passed the Assembly Committee on the Judiciary by a bipartisan vote of 7-0.    

CAUSES

The San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (SDGMC) wants to add more voices to their team; they are starting the audition process on August 25, 2018.

Gay adult star Wesley Woods has a lot of followers on social media and last week he addressed them after saying he was gay bashed by three "straight white hetero men in West Hollywood California." 

It seems all the great 80s sitcoms are making some sort of fresh comeback from "Roseanne" to "Murphy Brown" and now there are talks of rebooting the popular southern comedy "Designing Women."

Thrillseekers get ready for the return of LGBT night at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, about 31 miles north of San Francisco. 

This weekend popular local tech house/techno brand Techniche will join the "stable of stellar international circuit talent" of Overdrive at Spin Nightclub.

Los Angeles based Matthew J. Dempsey had an interesting idea in that he wanted to bring his gay male friends and their mothers together for a mixer which included asking mom questions about what it was like to have a gay son. They all met up at STK in Los Angeles for this special day of one on ones, where the questions ranged from fun, to serious to awkward. 

HEALTH WELLNESS AND SPORTS

To bring awareness to the prevention of the disease, Assemblymember Todd Gloria recently authored Assembly Concurrent Resolution 258 (ACR 258) to establish Aug. 16, 2018, as PrEP and PEP Awareness Day in California. PrEP and PEP stand for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis respectively.
