The blog site is making some changes.
The popular blog collective site Tumblr is making some changes in mid-December that will affect people who enjoy its hardcore sexual content.
The site says it's permanently banning adults-only media on December 17 which alienates an entire community of porn subscribers.
According to The Verge, "The ban includes explicit sexual content and nudity with a few exceptions."
In an announcement on Monday, Tumblr reiterates, “Adult content will no longer be allowed here."
Media that will be erased are "photos, videos, and GIFs of human genitalia, female-presenting nipples, and any media involving sex acts, including illustrations."
The website will continue to allow nude classical statues and instances where the naked form is a part of political protests.
Although certain images are prohibited, the new rules don't include text, so forms of erotica are still allowed.
Non-sexually explicit paintings and illustrations that feature nudity will be okay as will breastfeeding and birthing photos.
On December 17, Tumblr will sweep the site and flag content that is not included in the new guidelines and will be deleted.
The company will contact users who have non-conforming materials uploaded to warn them they will be soon hidden from public view, therefore, rendering them unsharable.
Those who disagree with a flagged post can appeal to the company. They admit there may be some mistakes as the process is expected to be a long one.
Anyone who has a pornography blog will have enough time to move their content from the site and save it elsewhere.
