This annual event brings out the flavors of the community.
Those of you who have walked throughout historic Hillcrest to sample items for Taste of Hillcrest in previous years know it's true when people say that San Diego is becoming one of the best culinary destinations in America.
And if you're new to the event, the menu seems endless as you check off each place after grabbing one of their a generous nibbles. Plus, the diversity of the area offers people the chance to taste food from every corner of the world.
“The Taste of Hillcrest is a perfect reflection of our neighborhood’s vibrant and diverse restaurant scene," says Ryan Bedrosian, HBA Special Events Committee Chair. "It gives locals and visitors an opportunity to explore the neighborhood's pedestrian-friendly streets, and our famous sidewalk patios: while sampling food, beer, and wine from some of San Diego’s best restaurants."
This is a self-guided culinary tour that is really a feast for all of the senses. And Hillcrest itself, with its vintage charm, is easily one of the best neighborhoods to walk around in and explore. You'll see what people mean when they talk about "The Heart of Hillcrest."
There are over 35 restaurants participating in this year's event.
Everything from Pad Thai, and Sashimi, to Italian Antipasto, or Classic American Comfort Food is on the menu.
Taste of Hillcrest takes place on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from noon until 4 pm.
Tickets are just $30 or $35 on the day of the event.

About Taste of Hillcrest
The Taste of Hillcrest is an annual fundraiser for the programs and services of the Hillcrest Business Association (HBA). The HBA was established in 1921, making it the oldest business association in San Diego. HBA represents over 1,300 businesses acting as a liaison between the business community and the city. The HBA encourages economic development for the Hillcrest area through events and promotions. The Business Association also employs private security patrols in the core of our neighborhood, maintains cleanliness on(the streets through trash collection, street sweeping, and sidewalk power washing. The HBA also maintains the Hillcrest sign and the Hillcrest Pride Flag.
