One of the biggest events in San Diego is happening this weekend. The Red Dress Party is being held at the Broadway Pier with proceeds going to local HIV/AIDS programs to help those affected by the disease.

The Hillcrest Farmers' Market has a hot new vendor roasting the legendary, iconic fresh-harvested New Mexico Hatch chiles every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm through the end of September at the Hillcrest Farmers Market.

It's a big week in San Diego especially if you are making your way over to the Port Pavillion on the Broadway Pier on Saturday for the Red Dress Party. This is a hugely popular annual event which raises money for local HIV/AIDS programs. 

On Saturday, September 21 insideOUT is teaming up with San Diego matchmaker Colleen Perone of Natural Selection SD for a speed dating event!

This event will be for males seeking males.

It's that time of year, San Diego Restaurant Week returns on September 22 through September 29. Explore America's Finest City's culinary side and participate in this delicious event of more than 180 eateries. 

San Diego is becoming a foodie destination and during SDRW you can taste offerings made by all the talented people who have made hospitality their number-one priority. 

Although it was a short week for some, there was no shortage on the LGBT news front. First we got the exclusive interview with the drag queens reading at the controversial Drag Queen Storytime in Chula Vista, then we got word that Congresswoman Susan A. Davis is retiring after this term. 

Summer may have come to an end, but the neighborhood is still sizzling with great events. Aside from your weekly dose of Thirsty Thursdays and Finger Me Fridays, there are some special things you might want to check out in the coming week. 

This week Chula Vista was in the headlines as protesters and supporters clashed about a local event called "Drag Queen Story Hour." Some residents and religious leaders feel the literacy program, where drag queens read to kids, should not be held in their Otay Ranch library branch while others, including openly gay and former mayor Steve Padilla, think banning the event is discrimination. 

Just because summer is coming to a close doesn't mean your fun has to. In fact, Labor Day Weekend is coming up and as you can see in our calender there is plenty to do. 

You're not going to want to miss the first social gathering of the weekend at the Porto Vista Hotel with its great views, music and relaxed atmosphere.
