Pride month is in full swing and so are the celebrations. Many cities are enjoying Pride festivities and with that comes both the good and bad. The good are the many events that commemorate Stonewall, the genesis of the Gay Rights Movement.

The variety of events for LGBT people and their allies in San Diego seems to grow each week especially during June and July when the city prepares for its Pride festivities. This week it's time to celebrate the limitless talent of local drag queens who have entertained San Diego for decades.

The entertainment lineup for the 2018 Pride Music Festival is a massive collection of A-list musical superstars and you can win VIP passes to see them all. 

Following the Pride parade at noon on Saturday, crowds will make their way to the festival in Balboa Park to enjoy entertainment across four stages with 40,000 fellow Pride-goers.

San Diego Pride 2018 takes place on July 13-15.

San Diego Pride released their additional entertainment lineup for 2018 featuring live performances from Kim Petras, Paris Sukomi Max, and JoJo.

This year’s Pride kicks off on Friday, July 13 with the Spirit of Stonewall Rally at the Hillcrest Pride flag then continues on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 in Balboa Park.

Last year when Hurricane Delores brought rainbows of her own to San Diego’s Pride celebration with torrential rains, high winds and lightening, it wasn’t enough to keep people away from the celebration. 

Mr., Ms., Miss Gay Pride San Diego 2015 titleholders crowned

Sixteen community members competed in the 3 categories, answering the question: "What does Pride mean to you?" Contestants also wore attire that represented their "pride" and were asked to explain their outfit to the judges.

Winners of the contest, which takes place just a week before the annual San Diego Pride celebration, will have the opportunity to represent the San Diego LGBTQ community in a number of ways and participate in charitable service projects to benefit those in need.
