Newest SD Pride executive director resigns, Fernando Lopez poised to take over

Fernando Lopez will more than likely step in as interim executive director of San Diego Pride.

San Diego Gay and Lesbian News has learned that the new executive director of San Diego Pride, Eric Heinritz (pictured left),  has resigned and current Director of Operations, Fernando Lopez Jr. will more than likely be the interim executive director, eventually taking over the role officially. 

There is no formal word as to why Heinritz is stepping down. 

Pride Community Advisory Council meets for second time

his team was assembled in 2016 after then Executive Director Stephen Whitburn was let go.

Tonight marks the second time the Pride Community Advisory Council will meet to represent the community. This team was assembled in 2016 after then Executive Director Stephen Whitburn was let go, prompting many in the community to ask for representation.

The Advisory Board’s first meeting drew representatives from almost every major LGBT organization.

Pride 2017 continues in its success, offers grants to community

San Diego Pride 2017 continues to be a huge success.

Pride is pleased to announce the success of this year’s event has allowed them to continue to give back to local and national LGBT community organizations by offering grants.

Each year Pride strives to return proceeds from the annual LGBT Pride weekend back into the community.
