St. Patrick's Day

GLSEN, gays banned from Cincinnati St. Patrick's Day parade

Organizers of Cincinnati’s St. Patrick’ Day parade have banned the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) from participating in the annual event because they don’t want any gay and lesbian groups marching in a Catholic event.

COMMENTARY: St. Patrick's Day parades are anti-gay, just like the black church

Irish and African-American LGBTQ communities share a lot in common when it comes to being excluded from iconic institutions in their communities. For LGBTQ African-Americans, it's the black church, and for LGBTQ Irish, it's the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
