Who Was Bob Lee? Cash App Founder Bob Lee, 43, Killed In San Francisco
Bob Lee, the tech mogul who served as the Chief Technology Officer for Square (Block) has been found dead after a fatal stabbing in the 300 block of Main Street. The 43-year-old was stumbling with life-threatening injuries when officers arrived at the scene.
The police department announced that the Mill Valley executive was found with stab wounds at 2:35 am near the entrance of a high-rise building.
The medics were summoned to the crime scene to support his life. The 43-year-old victim was immediately rushed to the local hospital near the scene with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel and first responders, he couldn’t be saved. The official has been on the hunt for the suspect. So no arrests have been made.
An active investigation has been going on. The officers asked anyone to provide any details regarding the stabbing incident. They assured me that the informant would remain anonymous.
At first, many believed that his death news was fake. The San Francisco police department also didn’t reveal the name of the victim initially.
When his friends, family, and colleagues started to receive calls regarding the news, they took it to Twitter to confirm the news.
Several colleagues and friends poured their gratitude for the excellent personality. The CEO of Abra, a crypto wallet company tweeted that “ I just got the devastating news that our friend Bob Lee was killed in SF early today. Bob was a dad, the former CTO of Square, where he created Cash App, and the CTO of MobileCoin. He was a generous decent human being who didn’t deserve to be killed.”
Who Was Bob Lee?
According to his LinkedIn profile, Bob furnished himself as an advisor for startups and an angel investor. He formerly served as CTO of Square, currently known as Block.
He created CashApp, a mobile payment service application, and was the chief product officer of the same.
He helped develop other programs in digital payment products and is endowed in shaping different applications.
Before working at Square, he served as a team leader at Google. He was a core member of Andriod’s core library team that helped launch the world’s most popular and used operating system.
In July 2021, he joined MobileCoin as the Chief Product Officer. He worked as a part-time advisor at the firm while serving full-time as the CTO.
Bob has a wide range of expertise in technology and services. He invested in and advised some ubiquitous companies such as SpaceX, Figma, Clubhouse, and others
He started his career as a web developer at Red Rock Communications and worked in the same profession with two different companies until he switched to Senior Consultant in 2000.
He consulted for several years in different industries before he was employed at Google as a software engineer.
As said, he was part of the core member of the Android development team at Google for 5 years. In 2010, he became the CTO of the Square and served as the same for four years
In 2015, he joined as the CEO of the Present while staging as an Angel investor and advisor for three different companies. He served in the Present for eight years before becoming the Chief Product Officer of the MobileCoin.

Who Is He Survived By?
It is unclear regarding the personal life of Bob Lee. it is possible that Bob had a very private life. No mention of his family has been mentioned in any of the media outlets. Moreover, no spouse has come forward publicly after the death of the tech executive.
However, from one of the tweets from one of his friends, it is clear that Bob had a child, whose name is not disclosed. It is unclear regarding the details of the mother and the child.
