Women unite in 'A Day Without a Woman' worldwide protest

Worldwide protest brings women together for equal rights in the workplace.

Today the U.S. may have to endure a nationwide protest as tens of thousands of women are striking in solidarity for International Women’s Day.

“A Day Without a Woman,” is a worldwide rally in celebration of International Women's Day,  bringing awareness to the inequality still present in the workplace under male dominance.

True Colors Out Youth Theater is the creative genius of Abe Rybeck, 56, renowned Executive Artistic Director of The Theater of the Offensive.

The night following “Moonlight’s” win for Best Picture at the Oscars, a first for a black LGBTQ film, True Colors Out Youth Theater - the country’s longest running LGBTQ youth theater company- celebrated a first, too-a 2016 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award presented in November at the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama.

SD Pride narrowing down Executive Director candidates

Since Stephen Whitburn stepped down as executive director of San Diego Pride last September, the search has been ongoing for his official replacement.

Pride has recently selected a search committee and are currently reviewing applications for the position.

Small group gather in Hillcrest for candlelight vigil honoring trans lives

It’s estimated that nearly 100 people gathered at the Pride flag on University Avenue and Normal Street on Thursday night to honor the trans lives taken by violence this year.

It was a somber group who joined the Project TRANS at The Center event at 6:30 pm.

Mo's trivia champ donates winnings to help trans community

Paulo Batista (fourth from left) donates his trivia contest winnings to local trans charity.

One Hillcrest trivia buff has put his money where his knowledge is and donated his substantial winnings to support the San Diego trans community.  

Paulo Batista isn’t used to using his trivia answering skills in public, but when he won Mo’s Brain Vs. Brawn (BB) contest he had an idea; to donate that money to a good cause, one very close to his heart.
