Limiting access to state ID cards hinders LGBT homeless youth

LGBT homeless youth who can't get access to state ID cards might be falling short of their potential.

Although a citizen is not breaking the law if he or she doesn’t carry a state-issued identification card, they are however required to show them when getting a job, traveling, cashing checks and entering some buildings.

However, there is a problem with LGBT homeless youth not having easy access to them, and that could render them powerless in getting their lives back together.

The Nicky Awards return after having to reschedule

The 41st Annual Nicky Awards honors those for thier achievements in the LGBT community.

Get ready for the one night when the stars of the San Diego LGBT community come out as The Nicky Awards return for their 41st year. 

This prestigious event will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley.

Organizers had to postpone the show until later this year to find a new awards venue after a snafu happened with the original one.

Celebrate Flicks' 33rd Anniversary on Sept. 23

Hillcrest nightspot Flicks turns 33, and you're invited to the party.

For 33-years Flicks in Hillcrest has brought together the community for fun and entertainment, and to celebrate that accomplishment they are inviting you to join them on Friday, Sept. 23, for their Anniversary Party.

Since 1983 the nightspot has become one of the most popular in San Diego. It describes itself as a video bar, gay bar and sports bar all-in-one.

For the first time ever The Padres will present SDGMC's 'Jingle'

The Padres will present the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus' "Jingle" this December.

The holiday season is quickly approaching and so too is the performance date for The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus' annual concert “Jingle.”

This show, which will play at the Balboa Theatre on Dec. 10 and 11, is a musical holiday staple in the LGBT community and for the first time is being presented by The San Diego Padres.

Six Flags 'Out on the Mountain' offers a night of thrills and entertainment

"The Riddler's Revenge" at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

The extreme theme part Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA. (37 miles north of Los Angeles)  is having their annual “Out on The Mountain” event on Friday, September 16.

Over 6,000 people are expected to attend. The park will close to the public from 6 pm to 1 am for this exclusive celebration.
