Dwayne Haskins Death Ex-Steelers QB Cause Of Death, Latest Lawsuit

This month, one year ago, the world mourned the loss of quarterback Dwayne Haskins, and his loved ones are still reeling from the tragedy that took his life.

Haskins was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 9, 2022. And he passed away.

Former Steelers player and current NFL commentator on ESPN, Ryan Clark, says a civil case may be brought over Dwayne Haskins’ death.

Clark has put out a tweet in which he states that there will be a future press release in which the specifics of a lawsuit regarding what occurred to the former quarterback for the Steelers are outlined.

Who Was Dwayne Haskins

Dwayne Sr. and Tamara Haskins welcomed their first child on May 3, 1997, a son they named Dwayne Haskins Jr. in Highland Park, New Jersey. His sibling’s name is Tamia.

Haskins’s childhood nickname was “Simba,” after the lion king. The name was popularized by Disney’s 1994 film “The Lion King,” and it all started with Tamara Haskins giving her kid a haircut that made his afro look like a lion’s mane.

Who Was Dwayne Haskins

Haskins was a lifelong football fan who developed a deep-seated admiration for Eli Manning, the signal-caller for the New York Giants, during his formative years in New Jersey.

Even when he was in elementary school, Dwayne Haskins was already a first-rate passer who had no trouble making smooth connections with his receivers.

It should not have come as a surprise that Dwayne Haskins would go on to become one of the best and most recognized quarterbacks in the history of the Ohio State Buckeyes football program.

Because of his incredible performance in the NCAA in 2018, he is now in the running for the Heisman Award and will almost certainly be selected in the first round of the draft.

Haskins could not live up to expectations in the NFL and did not perform anywhere near his talent during his three up-and-down seasons with Washington and Pittsburgh. Regrettably, this was the case.

Haskins was found to be severely inebriated at the time of his passing, according to the autopsy report that Hamacher was able to get. He had a blood alcohol content that ranged between 0.20 and 0.24, which is approximately three times the permissible limit in the state of Florida.

It found out that he had been drinking the night before with his teammates from the Pittsburgh Steelers at a neighborhood nightclub. They worked out for the entirety of the day prior to having dinner at the club.

Ketamine, a substance used for both relaxation and partying, was found to be present in Haskins’ system. In the club, he got into a brawl with another patron, but in the end, better judgment triumphed.

At Interstate 595, Dwayne Haskins and a female buddy were in the car when they discovered they were out of gas. He abandoned her along with the vehicle in order to locate a gas station in the immediate area.

According to statements made to police by witnesses, Haskins was attempting to stop automobiles on the shoulder of the freeway when he was struck by the dump truck.

Latest Lawsuit

Haskins’ attorney, Rick Ellsley, allegedly submitted a legal challenge based on evidence that has not yet been made public, as reported by a source with knowledge of the NFL named Ian Rapoport.

This includes the possibility of blackmail and conspiracy to loot, both of which centered on Haskins as the central figure.

In a call to 911, Chris Stanley, a vehicle who was on the interstate that morning, described what he observed just before Dwayne Haskins was struck by the car. On the freeway, Stanley saw a truck and another car heading in the direction of Haskins.

He made a note of this observation. Even though the lawsuit is just getting started at this point, the Haskins family is determined to find out what happened to Dwayne Haskins.
