New Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi Disclosed

Hey!, it’s finally here after a long 16 years of break. 

Guess what, one of the most popular fighting game series, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is back. This iconic gaming franchise is considered one of the best in the history of the game series. 

On Sunday, an official trailer for the upcoming game was revealed at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023, an event hosted by Bandai Namco, developer of the game series. The news was taken over by top online forums and magazines and is currently being celebrated by millions of fans around the globe.

An official trailer that portrays the throwback footage and Goku evolving into Super Saiyan Blue form has been taken over by the fans who haven’t heard any updates on the game for the past two decades. The game could be a nostalgic memory for most of us as the game series played a major role in our childhood life. Also, with the return of a much popular show, it is sure that the fans are eagerly waiting for its release. 

As mentioned above, the teaser trailer shows footage from the previous seasons of the game on a CRT. And from this video, it is estimated by some fans that the upcoming version could be an HD remake of the old games. Also, some others believe that the season could portray the new entry of Goku in the latest Super Saiyan Blue state. As of now, no official title or any details regarding the upcoming season has been revealed. Moreover, the teaser trailer didn’t reveal much about the launch platforms or even the launch window for the forthcoming video game season. As of the reports, it is believed that the game is in its early stages of development. 

The game that hasn’t been officially named will be the fourth installment of the season and the announcement was a surprise to the fans. Bandai Namco and Toei Animation made the unexpected announcement of the upcoming season in the form of a trailer. Although much information regarding the game series isn’t out yet, old tv footage of Dragon Ball Z was played in the trailer which later transforms into the updated version of Goku. The teaser trailer even read, ‘Get Ready For Battle’ and later appears, “a new Budokai Tenkaichi begins.”

What Is Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi

Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi is a series of fighting games that are developed on the basis of the Dragon Ball manga series produced by Akira Toriyama. The game was released as a PlayStation 2 exclusive in 2005 and later, the developer released two more installments; the upcoming game series is the fourth one which is getting released over a decade after.   

Usually, the game comes with a behind-the-back third-person camera perspective. The game series until the third installment had story modes including the ‘Z Battle Gate,’ ‘Dragon Adventure,’ and ‘Dragon History.’ These modes help the players to complete the battles based on moments from the original manga series and even the anime-exclusive storylines. 

The forthcoming game series is expected to be released on current-generation consoles. Also, it is expected that the new installment will illustrate returning playable characters, forms, and stages. 

Fans of the game are very much excited with the unexpected announcement made by the developers, Bandai Namco and Toei Animation during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023 event. They are looking forward to any further updates on the forthcoming game, game modes, characters, titles, etc. until any further updates are released by the developers, let’s just anticipate something big that could neutralize the decades of waiting.
