Who Is Shou Zi Chew Wife? All About Vivian Kao And Shou Zi Chew
Shou Zi Chew, CEO of TikTok and a veteran of the Singapore Army as well as a graduate of Harvard Business School, demonstrated that he was able to handle the pressure during his questioning on Capitol Hill.
His testimony came at a time when politicians from both parties in the United States are pushing for a potential nationwide ban on the popular video-sharing app.
In recent days, there has been an increase in the number of calls to ban the TikTok app due to concerns regarding the safety of its parent firm, ByteDance, which is based in Beijing.
The content restriction policies of TikTok as well as the risk that the app poses to users who are under the age of 18 have come under scrutiny.
Shou Zi Chew Wife Vivian Kao
While they were both students at Harvard Business School in 2008, Chew Shou Zi made the acquaintance of American-born Taiwanese Vivian Kao.
Vivian Kao, an executive at an investment firm, is Chew’s wife. Chew is also an executive at the firm.
According to the information on her LinkedIn page, she is currently employed as an independent non-executive director at Sun Hung Kai & Co., an investment firm situated in Hong Kong.
She currently resides in Singapore and serves on the board of trustees at both Tamarind Global and Wellesley College, which is located in Massachusetts.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from the school in economics and Chinese studies, Vivian went on to acquire her Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
The chief executive officer of the company recently disclosed that he and his partner have two young children, aged eight and six; however, the identity of the children remains a mystery.
During an interview in March 2023, the businessman revealed the ages of his children and claimed that they are “too young for that” to use TikTok. He also stated that he does not allow them to use the app.
He went on to state that “TikTok here in the United States, if you are below 13, you get a very constricted version of TikTok,” and that in many other countries, youngsters younger than 13 are not allowed to use the app at all.
He went on to add that he was helpless under the law to stop youngsters from using TikTok because it was illegal for them to do so.
Who Is Shou Zi Chew?
He received his degree from Hwa Chong and then went on to serve in the Singapore Armed Forces as an officer (NS).
After completing his obligation to his country by serving in the armed forces, he went on to receive a degree in economics from University College London.
After serving in the Singaporean military for a period of time, Chew accepted a position as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in London.
Following the completion of his Master of Business Administration degree at Harvard, Chew went on to do an internship with Facebook.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Chew eventually joined the venture capital firm DST Global, where his fluency in Mandarin enabled him to ascend the ranks to become a “China-focused partner.”
During his tenure as group head at ByteDance in 2013, Chew was an early investor in the company and was one of the company’s initial investors.
Before joining the parent firm of TikTok, ByteDance, Chew worked at the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi, where among other responsibilities he held the position of Chief Financial Officer.
In order to inquire about “consumer privacy and data security protocols, the platforms’ impact on youngsters, and their relationship with the Chinese Communist Party,” the House Energy and Commerce Committee issued a subpoena to Chew.
On March 23, Chew testified about the app for the first time in front of a congressional hearing for the first time.
There have been requests for a ban on the use of the app TikTok from members of Congress affiliated with both parties.
These individuals are concerned that the app could provide China with access to personal information regarding people living in the United States.
