American actress and singer Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas and rapper and singer Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., known professionally by his stage name, Nelly are back in the limelight after the former couple was spotted together recently. The couple who were having an on-and-off relationship since 2000 are now fueling up the media with patch-up rumors.

Earlier this weekend, the former couple was spotted together in Las Vegas. They were attending a boxing match and were caught sitting together while watching the match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.

They were snapped together by the fans who took it to social media which started the rumors of whether the duo is dating again. 

The 48 year old rapper and the 42 year old singer had a very controversial fight which ended their relationship. But the new video of the duo enjoying the match holding hands fired up a potentially reignited romance. 

As the couple has fired up a dating rumor after their break up, fans all over the world are looking deeper into their on-and-off relationship.

Nelly And Ashanti Relationship Timeline

The singers met for the first time at the 2003 Grammy Awards press conference. As per many top forums, it was noted that the couple felt some connection right from their first meeting. 

Ashanti stated in an interview that Nelly asked for her autograph when he met her at the event. And the couple was snapped together. She said in an interview that their relationship started as a joke but got serious after they got to know each other more. 

Although the duo haven’t met earlier, they were noticed by everyone since their first meeting and were believed to have some spark. The couple started dating then even though it took some time for them to get in touch. As of the records, the duo dated for around a decade.

After the singers got into a relationship, they shared most of their moments together with their fans. Unlike other artists, they never wished to keep their relationship private, rather they were so open about it and were one of the most celebrated couples of the time.

Apart from them sharing their moments with the fans, they even appeared in many music videos together with their flirty encounters. By 2010, the rapper stated in an interview that he is about to take their relationship to the next level.

The couple officially put an end to their years of relationship in April 2014 after 11 years of relationship. It was believed that the singer and actress ended her years of relationship with Nelly after he betrayed her.

A year later, she hinted at some reasons for her breakup with Nelly in her appearance on a television show. She said that she felt betrayed while in the relationship with Nelly and because of this, she planned to move on from all of it. 

Although the couple confirmed their breakup, fans were still anticipating the couple to get together back on fire. But unfortunately, nothing as such happened until 2023 when they were again spotted together at a boxing match, and exiting the show holding hands.
