Lee Ji Han K-Pop Singer And Actor Died In Seoul Crowd Crush
Lee Ji Han, the Korean actor, and K-Pop singer are confirmed to be dead following a stampede that took place in Seoul, the South Korean capital over the weekend. The crowd surge happened during the Halloween celebration and Lee was one among at least 150 people who lost their lives.
The news of the 24-year-old singer has saddened thousands of fans of Lee all across the country. A majority of the victims of the tragedy were in their twenties. Also, the number of women who passed away was higher than that of men. As per the reports by officials, there were 26 foreign nationals among those who succumbed to death.

It was Lee’s management agency 935 Entertainment that confirmed the news of his death. They expressed their love and affection for the singer by posting a black picture and a heart-wrenching writeup on Instagram. As per the post, they are heartbroken after hearing the sad news of Lee’s death.
They termed the singer as a precious family member of 935 Entertainment and 9 Auto Entertainment who have become a star in the sky and bid goodbye to them. The post went on to add that they would like to express their sincere condolences to the family members of Lee and all those who love and admire him who are in deep pain due to the least-expected demise of the singer.
Social media was flooded with fans posting tributes to Lee. Park Hee Seok, Kim Do-Hyun, and Cho Jin Hyung, the former contestants of Produce 101 paid tribute to the singer via a joint statement. According to them, Lee has bid adieu to this world and gone to a peaceful place. They urged others to say goodbye to him on his final path.
Lee was born on August 3, 1998. He made his first appearance on a public platform by participating in the second season of the famous Korean singing competition “Produce 101.” A reality television talent competition franchise, Produce 101 is conducted with the objective of forming a K-pop girl group or boy group. In South Korea’s Season 2 held in 2017, the show featured male trainees. However, due to a low ranking of #98 on episode 5, Lee got evicted from the competition. In the show, he represented Pan Entertainment as a trainee. However, after leaving the show, Lee quit Pan Entertainment and signed a contract with WIDMAY Entertainment.
In 2019, Lee kick-started his acting career by appearing in “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day”, a South Korean high-school drama. Lee donned the role of Shin Nam Hyun, the main character in the drama. The supporting role of Shin Nam Hee, Nam Hyun’s elder sister was played by Choi Woo Jung. Currently, Lee was shooting for a Season of Kok Du, MBC’s latest drama series.
The cause of the stampede that resulted in the tragedy is still not clear. However, as per the reports by some local media, a huge number of people rushed down the narrow street after hearing the news that an unidentified celebrity was there in the vicinity.
Following the stampede, South Korea is observing a period of national mourning in Seoul, the party district of Itaewon. Yoon Suk-Yeol, President of South Korea had announced seven days of national mourning. Funerals of the people who passed away are already underway. According to the announcement by the South Korean Government, they will offer support for funeral expenses. Allkpop, an American website dealing with Korean pop and gossip news reported that Lee’s funeral will be held on 1st November.
