Going by the latest reports, the US Airforce and Northrop Grumman will be launching the same in Palmdale, California on December 2. The Air Force will be broadcasting the launch on the aforementioned date, at 8 pm EST on its Facebook page.

It will give a huge boost to America’s air warfare capabilities. The AF may purchase at least 100 such air crafts at a whopping sum of $ 203 billion.

According to sources, the older version of the B-2 model was also designed by the same firm and was used in the Cold War. That happened to be way back in 1989. It has been almost 30 years since the launch of the older version. Thus, this will be a historic moment for all the firms and forces involved.

According to the firm, the bomber aircraft has the nickname ‘Raider’, which has taken inspiration from the Doolittle Raid in 1942. Lt Col James Doolittle had used it in the attacks against Tokyo, in the Japanese islands. It was sometime around WWII.

The name ‘Raiders’ has been inspired by the Doolittle Raiders. All the aircraft at that time were probably destroyed during warfare.

However, he was awarded for his gallantry. He received the Medal of Honor and was also promoted to a higher post. The firm received the order for the aircraft in 2015. But, no one disclosed any of the facts regarding the same as on date. The secret is just out now.
