Singer Ben Kweller Announces The Death Of His 16-year-old Son Dorian Zev Kweller

The “Jealous girl” singer Ben Kweller announces the death of his 16-year-old son. His family is mourning the loss of their eldest son, Dorian Zev Kweller.

Death Of Dorian Zev Kweller: Ben Kweller And Family Mourns

Ben Kweller typed a statement following the death of his son. However, no details surrounding the death have been informed by authorities or by Ben Kweller. Nevertheless, reports suggest that Ben Kweller’s wife Liz, and other close associates revealed that Dorian was killed in a car accident on February 28, 2023.

Following his death, Ben wrote on his Instagram handle, “There is no way I can be typing this, but I am….Our son, Dorian Zev Kweller, was killed last night”. He praised his son for being a true legend, a kind person, and a gentle soul at the age of 16.

He added that “If you knew him, you know, we’d never get over him as long as we’re here on earth.” He insisted on keeping the spirits of his son alive in the memories by listening to music he made. He assured that Dorian’s music can be found under the label @reallyzev. 

He mentioned that Dorian was on his way to the top, as he had already released some of his music. He said that his son was excited about the journey, as his first gig was only weeks away, at SXSW. During their last chat, they were talking about launching merchandise. “My baby boy was at the starting line with so much life ahead of him…I have no idea things like this happen.,” he added. 

He concluded the statement by citing how ‌shocked they were by the incident and said that the entire family is scared of what the future holds and he expressed the difficulty in dealing with the circumstances. He finished it by thanking everyone and apologizing for his slow response.

It is unfortunate that such a young soul passed away; even before he has performed. The budding singer was about to expose his talent in two weeks, but the world was too unlucky to hear his voice. In addition, the young artist had several plans to create merchandise by himself. It appears that he had lots of hopes and plans for his journey, but it is heartbreaking to learn that he departed at such a young age.

Dorian Zev is now survived by his parents, Ben Kweller and Lizzy, as well as his 12-year-old brother Judah.

The family has always supported Dorian’s talent to play music. Earlier, Ben took to Instagram to showcase Dorian striking his guitar while Judah was seen on the drums. All the while, Ben leads the pack. 

Both, Judah and Dorian, are assumed to have inherited their father’s interest, which is music. Dorian and Judah are presumed to be recording songs together, and Dorian has been writing and recording songs under the artist named Zev.

The Noise Company which represents Ben Kweller also released ‌a statement on the official Facebook account. “It is with great sadness that we have to even say thus…in a tragic event last night, we lost Dorian Kweller, who on this page we know as @reallyzev…this young man represented everything positive in life and the future. A kind heart, a smile that illuminated the world, and a passion for life and music. If you have kids, hug them.” 

The music label conveyed everyone to show love to their family by holding them together and keeping them close. Moreover, to live and love ourselves also, similar to how Dorian lived in all his 16 years of life.

“We are just in shock and send BK, Liz, and Judah all our support,” the music label ended the statement.
