Julian Sands Missing For 5 Days: Bad Weather Making Rescue Operation Difficult

The well-known British actor, Julian sands has starred in the movies” A room with a view”, “The Medallion”, “the girl with the dragon tattoo” and others – has been reportedly missing since January 13, 2023.

The renowned actor is also a devoted mountaineer, who went hiking on Mount Baldy, California in the San Gabriel mountains a week before. Since then he has not been seen or responded to.

The police have been searching for the 65-year-old on foot in the mountains until the ground search was hindered due to the drastic conditions and avalanche risks. As the storm in the region has worsened the ground searches have been called off.

Authorities claim that searches have been ongoing by drones and helicopters for the past few days and the search will continue if the weather allows, and the ground search will resume when the alps will be safer to step on.

More Hikers Are Missing

The search for Julian sands comes along with the other hikers who have been stranded or injured on the mountain.

The search and crew department has launched 14 rescue missions in the hope of finding the lost hikers.

For the past few weeks, the team has been searching for the hikers and warned the rest of the hikers to think twice before heading to the mountains amid unpleasant weather conditions.

As the weather conditions have been severe the rescue department has advised following the warnings.

The department further added that the recent weather condition and severe storms brought the ice conditions hapless for the mountaineers.

Since his disappearance, the family of the actor has been eagerly waiting for his resurrection. His family includes his wife Evgenia Citkowitz, whom the actor married in 1990.

The couple shares two children, he also has a child from a previous relationship with the former editor of BBC Radio 4, Sarah Harvey. 

The actor got his big break in the lead role in the romantic movie “A Room with a view”, after appearing in numerous supporting roles. Following the success of his big movie, he moved to Hollywood to pursue a career in American films.

He pushed out of his limits to acquire another big title role in the film “Warlock” and its sequel “ Warlock: the armageddon”.

After these phenomenon roles, he proceeded to appear in some prominent roles in “Arachnophobia” (1990), “Boxing Helena”(1993), and “Leaving Las Vegas” which was released in 1995.

He also played the antagonist in Jackie chan’s action-comedy film “The Medallion”(2003), furthermore, he voiced in the animated series “Jackie Chan Adventures”.

As he aged like a fine wine he bagged the roles in Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara starring movie “The girl with a dragon tattoo” an English remake of the original version. The actor voiced the character DeFalco in the call of duty: Blackops 2.

Following his disappearance, the Hollywood community is saddened and eagerly hoping for positive news from the rescue team. Even though he was missing, his influence in the movie has been widely etched in the hearts of the fans.

The multitalented actor was born on 4 January 1958 in Otley, West Yorkshire. He was brought up by a single mother along with his 4 brothers, following the divorce of their parents. He graduated from Lord Wandsworth, College, Long Sutton, Hampshire.

The actor initially married the British Journalist, Sarah Harvey in 1984. Their romance ended in 1987, sharing a single child.

After 3 years of divorce, Sands married again with another Journalist Evgenia Citkowitz, daughter of the Anglo-Irish Novelist Lady Caroline Blackwood. He is the father of two children of Evgenia.
