Russell Taylor And Jared Fogle Case: Why He Is Sentenced And What Is The Connection?
Russell Taylor and Jared Fogle are two familiar names you must have been listening to for the past couple of years.
Fogle became famous after becoming the spokesperson of the renowned fast-food brand, Subway. But, these two men became more popular after the media tore away their masks and helped to bring out the heinous crimes to the limelight.

Who Is Russell Taylor?
Russell Taylor was the head of a non-profit charitable foundation named after the former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle. The primary aim of the foundation formed in 2004 was to guide and build awareness in people regarding childhood obesity.
They conducted programs and events in different parts of the country, aspiring to construct a healthy and fit generation free from the grips of obesity and related diseases.
The organization mainly aimed to raise awareness among people about childhood obesity. For this, they conducted various educational programs for both children and their parents. These events at schools and other community organizations helped build a healthier generation.
Russell Taylor, as mentioned above, was the director of the Jared Foundation, and they had known each other for a long time.
Russell Taylor got arrested at his Indianapolis home on April 29, 2015, while serving as the director of the Jared Foundation. His arrest followed the charges of child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and voyeurism.
After his arrest, Fogle and his organization severed all their connections with Taylor. Just a month after his arrest, he attempted suicide at the Marion County Jail and recovered after being given life support.
Later, on September 1, 2015, Russell Taylor pleaded guilty to all the charges filed against him. He was sentenced to federal prison for 27 years on December 10, 2015. Recently, on Monday, 06 March 2023, he was sentenced to 27 years in federal prison for using hidden cameras and sexually molesting young girls with his wife.
What Is His Connection To The Jared Fogle Case?

During the investigation of the charges filed against Taylor, police received some evidence connecting them both. It proved that the duo had other deals apart from their relationship in the foundation.
From the chats between the two, police found several nude pictures of minors sent to Fogle by Taylor. And as a reply, he has shown interest in having sex with these children.
Apart from this, Fogle’s involvement in such cases got discovered by journalist and radio host Rochelle Herman Walrond who got doubtful of him for some statements he made about middle school-age girls. Later, Walrond, who befriended him, found much proof that proves the connection between Fogle and Russell Taylor.
During an investigation, the police even found a laptop and drive that carries pornography videos of minors. The police collected more evidence from the raid at Fogle’s residence in Zionsville, Indiana. And all these proved that the duo had a connection in the child pornography crime.
As a result, Fogle got arrested by the FBI and Indiana State Police investigators on July 7, 2015, on child pornography charges.

Apart from his connection with Russell Taylor, the police even found a series of text messages he sent to Cindy Mills, a Subway franchisee, and his sexual interest at the time. The message series revealed that Fogle had sexually abused numerous children, especially minors from nine to sixteen years, throughout his lifetime. He even asked her to sell herself for sex and even threatened her to make arrangements for him to have sex with her minor cousin.
