Social

Dear Hillcrest, with Jinx Mirage

Jinx Mirage travels around the neighborhood last week to fill you in one some of the social happenings in Hillcrest

My name is Jinx Mirage and I am your new social columnist for SDPIX and SDGLN.com.

I have lived in Hillcrest for a little over 3 years and due to me being a social butterfly in Hillcrest I have made friends with The Who's Who.

And I am always up to date on all the great events coming to Hillcrest and San Diego.

Here is why June is Pride Month

First declared by Bill Clinton, June is LGBT Pride Month.

Cities across the nation are preparing for their LGBT Pride festivals and Google has given their search engine a rainbow border so that must mean it’s time to celebrate LGBT Pride for the next 30 days.

I was brought in by my previous owner where I lived with another dog and enjoyed time inside and outside.

About me:

I also have been around older children and did okay with them. I was a great companion for my family's elderly mother from my previous home.

Remember the LGBTQ service members on this Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a time to give pause and remember the fallen in our military branches.

Memorial Day is a day to remember all of those people in the service who have given their lives to keep America free.

Although any person who has died in the line of duty, LGBTQ or straight, is one too many, our community should take an extra pause to recognize the many men and women who have forged the way for equality in all branches of the service, some even dying for it.
